CHRISTMAS IS COMING

JAPANESE VISITOR
Room 4 have been very enthused about learning the Japanese culture and language.
They have experienced eating sushi, dressing in a kimono and have much more.
Today we had Ueta Sensei from St Peter's College, Palmerston North visit room 4. Ueta Sensei was Miss Campbell's teacher for 4 years when she was learning Japanese.
We are very lucky to have had Ueta Sensei in our class. He taught us lots of Japanese. It was very entertaining as he also knows a lot of magic.
Thank you Ueta Sensei for coming to help us with our learning. Arigato!
Bonzai!

TRIP TO THE RECYCLING CENTRE
On Tuesday the 13th of November room 4 traveled to Palmerston North to visit the Awapuni Recycling Centre. This trip helped us with our Science unit around rubbish and recycling.
We were very lucky to have a lesson in a well resourced classroom, watch a short movie and go into the busy areas where all the hard work and magic happens. What a process! We never realised how long the journey of our rubbish is!
We were also very lucky to stop for lunch at a very entertaining park near by.
We thank all the parents who took transport and Pip Crystall for making it possible to enhance our learning.

PET DAY
Today was Halcombe School's Pet Day.
There were many dogs, lambs, cows, cats, rabbits and even a quail.
Some of us brought our precious pets to school while others created recyclable creatures.
It was a great day to have a sausage sizzle and enjoy some good sunshine.

MAKING MONEY IN MATHS
Room 4 have been learning about Money in Maths this week.
It has been fun role playing supermarket scenes to help us learn to calculate our prices and how to give change.
Take a look at the great work Kerry, De'Quante, Ashley and Destiny did yesterday.

Time has come to have a holiday. Thank you Room 4 children for working so hard this term.
Keep safe and happy over the next two weeks.
Teachers at Halcombe School are heading off to a conference to get taught lots of things about reading. We get to learn too! It would be great to think you guys are doing some reading at home too.
Winning the classroom cup was a great way to end the term.
