Shake Out

Today at 9.26am we took part in the Shake Out event. We dropped, covered and held our positions before assembling to our safe school area. We were pleased that we knew exactly what to do in case of a real earthquake.

GETTING INTO IT

Room 4 have been getting into our invention projects!
We have been facing some challenges but have problem solved calmly and worked great in our groups. We can't wait till we share our final products.

INVENTIONS

Room 4 have been planning our invention projects.We are working in groups and are all getting involved enthusiastically. We cannot wait to see the inventions we all come up with.
  

Recently our Student Council decided to donate $100 to the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter! As you can see they really appreciated our support!

DOG STARS

On Monday we had The Dog Stars come and visit Halcombe School.

We were amazed to see how talented the dogs were.

We have decided to write Chelsea (the trainer) and the dogs a letter.

ROOM 4 OLYMPICS

To finish of our Olympics learning Room 4 participated in our own unique Olympic competition. 

Our teams were "Team Lightning Bolt", "The Broken Bones", "The Sharks" and "GAA"

After many competitions Team "GAA" got Gold. Some competitors even decided to dress up for our class event. 

I hope Room 4 enjoyed learning about the Olympics this term.

MUDDY TOURNAMENT

On Thursday Halcombe Senior A netball, Senior Rugby, Junior Rugby, Junior A and Soccer team went South Makirikiri for a tournament. We had great fun and the best part was playing in the mud. 

We are very thankful for all those who helped organised and those who supported this event to make it possible for us to take part in such a fun day.

MATHS WEEK 2012

To start our Maths Week off Halcombe School did a Maths challenge. Room 3 and 4 did it together.

Well done for working so hard and solving some tricky problems around the school.
