WHY DO WE NOT HAVE SCHOOL ON MONDAY?

On Monday the 6th of Feburary we don't go to school. Why?

  1. Monday is Waitangi Day. A very important day for New Zealand. My class have learnt about the Treaty of Waitangi and we have made our own class treaty. I have lent a book to Miss Campbell to help explain the importance of the promises we make when we sign a treaty. I hope you enjoy it.

  3. Today is Monday and over 150 years ago the Maori and the British signed a Treaty so the Maori and British shared the land of New Zealand.

  4. Maori and british had war until they signed a treaty. Now maori own half of NZ and british own the other.
